How to buy silver...

I'm wanting to buy some silver, and I was wondering whether I should buy junk coins, or silver bars or rounds. If I should buy junk silver, is there a certain type of coin that is preferable? Thanks

so...research...and get some of several types

as far as coins i know they recommend morgans especially AU62 or better...they do well over time...

In a hypothetical "dooms day" scenario, if you want to hedge against a devalued U.S. dollar, load up on any silver coins or rounds. Their easier to trade/barter/buy with. Same goes for gold coins (smaller denominations instead of the big 1 oz rounds).

BU, AU, MS will mean nothing then.

Anyone else notice when the value of the $ decreases, gold and silver market value increase. Something to keep in mind........

i think its because everyone pulls thier money out of stocks and start buying up gold and silver...i could be wrong...i'm no expert

jernigan00 is right. if your worried about a collapse, which seems very very near, buy rounds and bars, alot of people prefer more famous brands. englehard, johnson matthews, a-mark. pretty much anycoin shop will carry these. i know locally we have a shortage. so call around and ask how much abouve spot they are selling for. sucks cause i just paid 2.00 above spot the otherday. i remember in 2004 i was paying .25-.40 above spot.

true on silver is silver and just get some, but alot of people dont know the 64 and earlier contains silver. i might cause some to be safe i would just stick with bars and rounds.

i should have mailed u my scrap i just sold the other day. they wanted to pay .25 a gram, i was like um no....... so they gave .28 . still sucks. i sold around 600-900 grams. turned around and got rounds.

you have to be careful whem you buy silver online
the issue the the shipping costs
many dealers will grab you on the Shipping & Handling
I prefer to hunt locally at fleamarkets
