My only half dollar supply bank so far is drying out.....It lets me get both halves and dimes in boxes but so far its been skunky skunk on 14 boxes.

This other bank that usually has >2 rosies a box lets me get a dime box now and then since I sweeten up with the tellers.... but that too is dried up (dimes are kind of effort wasting, it being scarce and worth only 1/2 to a 40% half)

I went on this new account opening/Half dollar ordering scheme on on 12/23, went to 15 banks around my town, no avail at all without a $.15 cent fee a roll minimun.

How do you get new supply banks without paying a fee?

I think this subject is extremely sensitive and I might as well move to the Sahara desert. :'( :'(

0.15/roll is tough, 7.50/box.

If you're willing to spend a little money and experiment with these fee banks, go ahead.

I do strongly consider this my hobby, Though I do not have any "fee banks", I guess if I had to result in one, I would be sure they have a good supplier.

What doesn't kill you will only make you stronger.

HH and good luck

those are business account fees, ask them to show you their fee schedule for personnel accounts and it won't be in there. Its just the bank manager trying to make their location monthly fees look good and you can't blame them for trying, but they can't charge you unless it is built into their personnel account fee schedule. They can say we don't order those however. You've got an uphill battle ahead of you but you can win it over time.

Schedule an appointment with the Bank Manager
Be polite but firm
Document the conversation with notes or a recording
Ask to show you where a personnel account gets charged for change, and if he/she shows you the business account fees, give a polite chuckle and remind them you have a personnel account. (helps if you actually use the bank a little some direct deposit or debit card charges couple times per month, and keep a little balance). Ask them if they charge 15 cents to everyone getting a roll of quarters for laundry.
If you still are getting the shaft from the Manager, ask to setup an appointment with their boss and customer relations. Give the impression that you are willing to pursue it to the next level and do so.

Just be patient & polite , don't get argumentative with them just lay out your case and you should make some headway. Maybe they let you get 4 boxes per week max or whatever, but you should be able to make some results negotiating.

Go to every bank and branch you can and ask them if you can order a box of halves. If they say yes, ask them if they charge a fee. If they say they do, even for account holders, politely go away and go to another bank/branch. I have found branches of the same bank with different policies, some will charge, some won't. Once you find a bank that will order and not charge order 1 or 2 boxes. When those come in, ask them how many they can order each week. Many may want to do only 1 or 2. No problem. If you want more than that, then search for another bank that you like. If all goes well, you will soon have as many boxes as you need each week, with the extra bonus of coins coming from different sources.

The banks do not get these boxes for free The are charged a fee from the service company. Many banks do not want to be bothered with halfs, and they especially do not want to get boxes brought in for disposal. If a bank is indifferent, won't order or wants to charge a fee, don't worry, don't argue, don't try to negotiate. Just politely leave and look for the banks that don't mind giving you the coins. Be prepared to open an account with the banks willing to order for you.

I have a bank that is willing to order me 2 boxes a week right now and I am not even a member and they know it.

On a side note, they said they needed dimes because they were low, later that day I brought in $500 worth of dimes that I searched and rolled for them. They were beyond happy.

Ask around.. you can start off small too.. order one box or even a box of pennies. Test the waters and then move up as you build a relationship with that bank. Bring gifts. That goes a long way. Tellers would be more inclined to order for you if they are also getting something out of it.
