How To Use a Bounty Hunter Tracker IV?

I've had a Bounty Hunter Tracker IV for about 5 month's now, and I love it. I do the 'all metal' setting, but I want to start discriminating junk. Does anyone know how to do that? Will it work for Japanese coins? And finally, if you discriminate, wouldn't you have the possibility of missing something valuable?

If you do use the discriminator and the "notch" setting or the "auto notch" you will notch out most small iron, lead, and gold first. Gold/lead/iron will produce a low tone on the discriminator, Silver/copper will produce the higher tones. The best way to learns it to get a few items of gold and silver and drop them on the ground and see how the detector senses them.
