How to use signal balance knob on whites eagle II SL 90

Anyone know how to use this control knob? I think mine is a 90s series, because I saw a picture of this knob on a 90s series Eagle II SL. I know it has to do with pre amp perhaps. It is a tune-able knob located on the front of the control box. I don't have the manual, so it is the only feature I know nothing of. Any help?
