My dad modified his Eagle II SL to be a hipmount unit by cutting the upper rod off even with each end of the control box and making a custom pouch for the control box. I'd like to get it back to the normal configuration, but I'm having a hard time finding a new rod that fits my budget. That budget is as little as possible. I've seen some control boxes mounted to carbon fiber shafts, and while that would be nice, it's way too expensive.
Does anyone know where I can get a cheap upper rod? Does anyone have an old broken/junk Whites unit laying around? I can modify the screen mount as needed myself.
