This is an identical item on Ebay that I found at the farthest of three different Community wide garage sales.
Here in the middle of North Central Texas, I found a nautical treasure this last weekend... It's a large four post solid brass Ship's porthole. The glass is still intact and is 16" in diameter. The thick and wide outer flange measures 20" in diameter. The whole thing weighs 52 pounds....
Looks like this one:
Vintage Used World War II Era Large Brass Glass Nautical Boats Ships Porthole | eBay
I bought it for $50....and lugged it back to the car.
Remember, I've taken a load to the local scrapyard where they pay $2.08 a pound for yellow brass....but,.....
When I bought the ship's porthole, at the time, I didn't realize that it could be worth more than just doubling my money in selling it as scrap brass.... I'd be happy as a clam to get 1/3 of Ebay's listing. ;>) How would you sell it?
