How'd you get hooked?

New guy / first post:
Began CRHing about 2 months ago in an effort to get silver at 1 x face vs. the 25 x face I've been paying. Had no idea this was a "hobby", but glad to find others hooked on this activity. I know how the addiction spreads as my wife and kids are now fighting me over rolls of halves. My question is: How did YOU get started in CRH?

Got outta the Marines, had no hobbies. Went to hobby lobby and picked up some coin books. Went to the bank to get some quarters and dimes. 2 rolls in, I found my first silver dime ever and it was a mercury. Did some quarters and found 3 silver canadians. Now I have an addiction. Haha.

I figured out when I was about 7 or 8 years old that I could ask my mom to get rolls of pennies for me when she went to the bank, and I would search them and put them in my piggy bank when done (which I had already dumped out and searched numerous times). I've been roll searching off and on for nearly 25 years now.
I have always hoarded wheat backs and still have the ones I saved from when I was 7 and 8. I began culling silver when I was about 12- a family friend gave me some Franklins he got at the bank, and that had me hooked.

Just found out about coin hunting in late June. I was on the precious metal thread on another forum when someone mentioned that they found silver coins in their change and how they ordered coins from banks and was successful with this process. Was a bit late to the game, took a while to get my business going with getting the boxes and dumping, but so far so good. Building relationships with vault tellers is a bit difficult but doing the same with dumping banks is even more difficult. Nonetheless, found 170+ 40%ers and 80 90%ers since June. Free silver with little risk, who can complain?

While surfing a metal detector forum I feel into a section about CRH. On a lark I asked the teller at my bank if she had any halves. She handed me a half a roll and 3 loose coins from her teller tray. It had 4 - 40%ers I can't remember the years. My first thougth was this is so cool and my second thought was "now I'm in trouble just what I need another addiction".
