started with a really rough day in the woods, hunting down another impossible site...bailed on that on moved to a site I've always known still had good stuff, but the trash is so amazingly thick it's impossible to work.
so today we took out a bucket, each of us starting cleaning a different spot...pretty much completely ignoring target ID outright, the only way to get to the good stuff was to pull everything else...
got a nice clear '35 buffalo and a weird copper tag thing, I thought probably an award...turned out later to be 1910 Boat Permit for Grand Resivoir, Ohio...VERY, VERY cool.
this one spot had a bunch of large mixed singnals, starting working to pull it apart, iron nail, iron nail, pull tab, bottle cap, and on and on...finally this MONSTER slab of silver appears in the ground. No clue what this thing is, but it's obivously been run over and torn from a much larger object. Bottom in engraved with a name and very small lettering at the bottom says "sterling 925 fine." Weighs 1.88 OUNCES...pretty sure this is the largest solid silver object I've ever found.
Oh also got neat tag "U.S. Map Co. Cinnicinati, Ohio" Just a WILD place that still has more to give :-)
