Isn't that what they said about finding treasure in the ocean before the days of electronics? :)

Re: Hunt for Osama's Body

He can come down here to Panama, and practice by finding Drakes Coffin!

Re: Hunt for Osama's Body

What he might have to do is locate the sharks swimming around the area. I am sure he can find a recycled Osama that most likely gave the sharks indigestion and the runs!!!!!! :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:

It's not remotely the same thing.
"Treasure in the ocean" is a big, wide concept that can exist in many places, across large areas. There are details and historical records as far as where ships might have sank, etc, etc to narrow things down a bit... Trying to find a lone corpse "somewhere in the Indian ocean" is a different thing entirely.

One always has to tip their hat to the relentless types, but indeed, some things are so statistically ridiculous that you can't help but chuckle. Would love to see the guy succeed, but I'm pretty sure I won't find anyone willing to bet on it happening.

I guess my point was missed by the way I expressed it. I was just looking at the irony of a comment coming from a forum where the pursuit of a known object has it's challenges.

I agree with you, the chances of success are extremely slim, particularly since this object of search may already be shark food. ;D

Re: Hunt for Osama's Body

If he is successful he will find only part of the body . Due to my Level 6 Security Clearance I was sent the enclosed photo seen only by a few . Having shared it with you I must go into hiding until the attention span of the present administration is diverted by something else . I expect to be gone at least 15 minutes . Enjoy.

I hope the seagulls got it.

Re: Hunt for Osama's Body

Remember the good old days when they put the outlaws bodies on display at the undertakers. I still think public hangings would prevent a lot of crime.

Re: Hunt for Osama's Body

This story's a hoot! In the same league as Obama firing the cattle guards!

Not only statistically impossible, but probably tactically as well.

It's not like I believe the government about much, but Osama is definitely gone in the drink, as that's the best strategic and tactical option for the conclusion of his story.

I'd wager they made it pretty hard to find as well.

Re: Hunt for Osama's Body

A small detail they probably left out
was in an effort to insure that Osama mortal remains
sunk deep enough so that Osama may actually meet some of
potential mermaid vestal virgins, of the like their holy men talk about so...
They strapped him to a depth charge - so as to weight his carcass
down...

Anyhow, as the story goes somebody forgot to disconnect the depth
fail safe fuse and a few minutes after he was launched with dignity
into the great beyond, a blurb of bubbles rose
to the surface - accompanied by
a brief thump noise and
a foul musty odor. ... :dontknow: :dontknow: :icon_scratch:
