hunt site was a bust But, God's canvas was great!

Our club (Michigan Treasure Hunters) was invited to hunt an old grain mill site, that was in operation since 1835, and alledgedly never been hunted before. In order to be fed and our thirsts quenched with fresh squoze cider, we each had to ante up 10 dollars each. The food (homemade chilli and homemade chicken noodle soup) was awesome. The grain was fresh ground that morning and fresh pumpkin pies, and breads, and cake were served. The people who own the mill shut it down for the day, so we wouldn't have to compete with customers and tourists for the parking spots, ( besides making their daily money from us and their 6 dollar a loaf breads) 1 and 2 pound loaves. The only two good finds were a 1902 I.H. cent and a 1940 mercury dime. And I found the best thing of all, thanks to God and my camera's eye, enjoy!........NGE

Also, in speaking with one of the workers, I found out that the mill was empty for 8 years before the current owners bought it 10 years ago, and one of our club members lives down the road from the mill, so I believe that the area was hunted well..........NGE More pics...............

We had a couple hardy hunters in the water below the dam in the river, they found lots of fishing equpment, sinkers included. But they said they had a good time...........NGE

This lil guy was sorta cold and couldn't move around much, so I had a member pick it up and hold it on their hand so I could get some macro's of it. It's a damsel fly, and after getting the pics it flew away ( I think the warmth from the persons hand helped to warm it up faster than the sun............NGE

And on a more beautiful note. There were some old roses that had been gotten by Jack Frost, they were up against the old mill brickwork..............NGE I played with the color on one pic of the roses....

4-H, I asked the guys that were in the river, hunting. If they saw any fish, they said no, all they saw was fishing tackle .......NGE

$10 well spent. Believe me folks, this guy and a few others on here have been a great inspiration to me in photography, and I'll keep messin with it, and maybe someday I'll finally get up to their level. Excellent pics, NGE.
