got a chance to take out "erik in nj" a member of t-net for a hunt in the farm fields i have been working
i found my second 2 cent coin and i few other
i believe the odd shaped coin is a farthing but cant be sure i can make out lady Britannia on the coin
the button i will be trying to post on the what is it forum
it has what looks like lady liberty with sun rays for the neck and out of the back of her head
hoping i can get a picture that shows what i mean but so far no luck

I did pull plenty of can slaw for my collection and found a cool looking small tag (1" x 1/2") that has the word "PATENT" on it with the letters containing serifs and arranged in an old-fashioned arc (see a preliminary scan of it below, just washed with soap and water). I know Frank wanted me to find something good, but I feel as though I "paid my dues" today in that field and we have a follow-up hunt scheduled in a few weeks.
