Hunt yields coins from 3 different centuries - Big Silver & Gorgeous KGIII!

Hit up a new spot today, with my friend Ben. 8)

Arriving at the spot, we exited our vehicles and faced the blistering breeze. We questioned eachothers sanity to hunt in these conditions, but because of our determination and the willpower to succeed, we decided to push on through the wind. We explored the open space and began detecting, digging random junk. Scattered around some areas, we saw pieces of ceramic, colored glass, pieces of brick, and lots of clam shells. These good indicators pushed us forward even more. We eventually came across a low spot. It was littered with a high concentration of shells, brick, and glass, so we decided to concentrate there. We hit this spot up for about 3 hours, and at one point it was snowing, and with the winds it felt like we were in the arctic. :o

That's Ben, in the distance. Today was my first day using my new Raven shovel, by Predator Tools. What a shovel!!! I love it.

My finds are pictured below. Ben found 5 buttons, several which resemble nipples, and were all in awesome shape, thanks to the fine sand that's in the field. Notice the blowhole button. My 4th one found to date. I am not sure what the buckle is to. The oval thing looks like it may have been part of some jewelry.

This is the first KGIII that I have ever found. The dirt just fell off.

Nice hunt in the 45 mph wind gusts .. extreme cold open field hunting :o that is going above and beyond :notworthy: . The windchill was freakin' brutal ::) i stayed in the warmer forest . Beautiful KG III copper , colonial blowhole button, and nipple buttons . I predict you guy's will find quite a few more coins and relics out in that field . Seems like an old work site or even a early farm house . If it's gets plowed up than definitely there will be more every season .

Good day , dawg

A few ... Most of the Machins Mills where dated 1787, 88 .. there is a 1775 search :read2: Vlack 4-75A New York City Atlee Imitation Halfpenny , but there is only one known , so in my humble opinion , regal

Elad, beautiful KGIII counterfeit copper, it is not a regal, gave it a good comparison look and even though it is close to regal, it is not. The countefeit collectors are currently classiifying the different types of KGIII counterfeits and this one might be one in a possible family they will call the Romanhead. If you got it weighed it would most likely be under 130 grains in weight, which would add more evidence to it being a counterfeit.

I would love to see Ben post the pimple/nipple buttons, especially since I have a mould for them.

Oh, the reason I have interest in whether regal or not for a KGIII, my buddy and I are keeping a percentage on KGIII, that is regals ground found versus counterfeits ground found by detectorists, so far only one out of hundreds has been ID'd as regal....

Dale, that KGIII is the nicest I've seen dug! Glad we got to get out today, even in a blizzard!
