I decided to check the 1890's trash pit which is in the woods in the back of my yard. I have tried many times since I completly emptied it in November of 2013. In 2013 I recovered 4 barrels of glass and China fragments and over 60 complete bottles. Anyways I dug a giant pit 4 feet deep and 5 feet long. Anyways, I never found anything. Later on I dug a foot and got a bottle and parts of a china figure (sherpardess?), which I glued together though it is still missing a few pieces.

It may not be my 5 bottle per hour average back in 2013 but it is still not bad.

Anyways, here are photos

A friend who experts in ceramics told me a list of possible makers, told me it's a bud vase and could be as early as late 1700's and broke and was thrown away later on though her guess is mid 1800's. It also had paint on it which worn off though traces of blue color can be seen on her dress.

Nice restoration! It's rewarding to be able to piece things like that back together. :icon_thumleft:

You may have already done this, but you can make a nice seive with 2x6s and hardware cloth. It'll be useful to trap the smaller pieces of glass that you may have missed and you might find some other interesting things as well.

Nice saves! Congrats!

^What she said!^What an ornate little piece, hope you can go back and find the rest.

I have to try that some time, I can imagine how much cool stuff I miss. Thanks!
