Hunting a local spring found more junk than usual but a neat gold ring that my son says is spoon end ring. It does not have magnetism, so . . . It is a little too pitted to see if there is any writing or stamps. $1.19 in change and one wheat penny, 1947.

Hey Jack, are you going inland to escape the "red Tide"? Went to Anastatia this weekend - nothing! The beach was without any metallic trash at all. I figure that the recent NE winds added sand. Very little red tide up there. The red tide is bad here in South Flagler.

We are going to Matanzas and further north tomorrow. I would hate to have paid big bucks for a condo for a week to find out that I couldn't go outside.

Good hunting

Hi Daydream,

Yes, I have, I am getting a little dejected with the millions of tons of sand that seems to keep re-appearing on the beach. I feel that sitting home staring at the ceiling could be more productive. Red tide is really something else . . . .

I am looking for old fresh water hot spots and public lands that have some history that can be hunted. More research, less hunting. At least for a while.

Interesting ring. I've never seen one like that before.
