Hunting Civil war vet’s homes.

I heard that you can find relics by hunting around CW veterans homes, I was wondering if anyone has found this to be the case and if it was worth doing the research on?

I've found a few Civil War uniform buttons at old home sites, I didn't intentionally seek out veteran's sites though.

Absolutely! I have found both Yankee and Confederate items, good ones, around old homesteads. My best days were while digging homes that no longer exist in plowed fields.
