Sorry if this has been asked before. I did a search but didn't really find much.
My husband and I are looking to purchase some hunting property and it has old underground mines on it. What are your experiences with hunting Indian artifacts in areas like this? Is it disturbed and the chances of finding anything are slim to none? Or since the mines are 500 feet down it's still ok? Thanks in advance.

It depends how much of the natural surface is still there. Most archaeological activity is limited to the top 20 feet or so. (And in most areas it's much shallower than that.) If that gets disturbed and churned up, it can be great. If it gets covered by overburden or buried under 20 more feet of new dirt, it's going to protect the artifacts from ever being found.
