Got out to the beach with my Excal II at the tail end of the hurricane on Sunday. Found this Tag Heuer watch in the surf about 6" down. Time and date were still correct and it fit's my wrist! It's my personal best find so far. I cleaned it up and took it to a Tag dealer and they verified that it is genuine and not a knock off. They said it would have sold new for around $1,800. That made my day. Thanks for looking.

Hey, it was nice hunting with you on Sunday! Maybe since I talked you into a waterproof detector you'll split it with me. :laughing7:
That watch made getting sand blasted and rained on in 50 MPH winds worth it. Nice find.

Yea. Windy and stung quite a bit but it was worth the trip.

My wife suggested that I sell it to help pay for the Excal II that found it. That just makes no sense to me.... :dontknow:

You're right. Everything has it's price. It is kind of a trophy since it's my best find and I'm kind of a watch guy but I sure can't afford to just head to the store and buy one of these. I am giving it some serious thought before considering letting it go.

My wife suggested I sell the Flowing Hair Half Dime I found back in March. I asked her if she was married to Chase Utley would she ask him to sell his World Series Ring? There are no trophies in metal detecting, no blue marlin to hang over the mantel. That coin is my championship trophy!
AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But even championship trophies have a price! :headbang:

Yeah, and I have my 25th anniversary coming up.....My trophy may be going to auction.

Some of my best I've sold, and others I decided to keep, but there is no piece of metal in the world I couldn't attach a price too.

Just be 1000% sure if you sell!

Yeah, just watch an episode of Pawn Stars.

Don't sell or auction off your excellent watch! It's handsome, practical, works, and fits you! And it will no doubt always be one of your best finds ever. For your 25th anniversary, your wife can buy you a nice card and inscribe it: "To my favorite guy, keep the watch!" I suggest this because I also am a wife! We shouldn't take our guys for granted. And you can buy her a nice gift of her choosing too! Andi
