Got out to the beach with my Excal II at the tail end of the hurricane on Sunday. Found this Tag Heuer watch in the surf about 6" down. Time and date were still correct and it fit's my wrist! It's my personal best find so far. I cleaned it up and took it to a Tag dealer and they verified that it is genuine and not a knock off. They said it would have sold new for around $1,800. That made my day. Thanks for looking.

:laughing7: I may still have that excuse. My wife suggested that I sell it to help pay for the Excal II that found it. That just makes no sense to me.... :dontknow:

On another note. I called the manufacturer and gave them the serial number in the hopes that I may find the owner but they said while it is one of their numbers no one ever registered it. Oh well, it's a keeper.

Gotta like that. I used to have an Aquaracer but sure didn't find it!

sweet watch, I'd be going back for more

OMG. That'll fill your gas tank for a while. Wish I lived closer to a high tide/storm area. My beach yeilds nothing but pull tabs, lol.

Well, you need to have something to show for your work. Tell your wife all the scrap rings, including any that won't fit your fingers but may fit hers, will go to the purchase price recovery fund. I bet the first ring with ice that fits her finger will erase the request to sell that watch!
Keep hunting!

Welcome to the T.Net family ...congrats for the Tag !

wow very nice. Tag makes really nice watches. I'd wear that for sure.... well unless someone came up and offered me about 1500 bucks

Good point, I will have to make her aware of this...

Thanks to all for the compliments.

Agreed. $1500 would wear much better.

:hello: Now you can trade it in with me for a new detector...Seriously.

I wish I found the watch sooner...I would have taken you up on that. I just bought the Excal and already own a V3i. I have about all the units I can handle right now.

My wife suggested I sell the Flowing Hair Half Dime I found back in March. I asked her if she was married to Chase Utley would she ask him to sell his World Series Ring? There are no trophies in metal detecting, no blue marlin to hang over the mantel. That coin is my championship trophy!

But even championship trophies have a price! :headbang:

Hey, it was nice hunting with you on Sunday! Maybe since I talked you into a waterproof detector you'll split it with me. :laughing7:
That watch made getting sand blasted and rained on in 50 MPH winds worth it. Nice find.

Some of my best I've sold, and others I decided to keep, but there is no piece of metal in the world I couldn't attach a price too.

Just be 1000% sure if you sell!
