I'd be heading for the hills, Truth.
Best of luck and secure the hatches, as it's going to be a rough ride it looks like.

2. There is a danger of life-threatening storm surge inundation
Sunday along the coasts of Louisiana and Mississippi within the
Storm Surge Warning area. Extremely life-threatening inundation of
10 to 15 feet above ground level is possible within the area from
Morgan City, Louisiana, to the Mouth of the Mississippi River.
Interests throughout the warning area should follow any advice given
by local officials.

3. Ida is expected to be an extremely dangerous major hurricane when
it reaches the coast of Louisiana. Hurricane-force winds are
expected Sunday in portions of the Hurricane Warning area along the
Louisiana coast, including metropolitan New Orleans, with
potentially catastrophic wind damage possible where the core of Ida
moves onshore. Actions to protect life and property should be rushed
to completion in the warning area.

4. Ida is likely to produce heavy rainfall later Sunday into Monday
across the central Gulf Coast from southeast Louisiana to coastal
Mississippi resulting in significant flash and riverine flooding
impacts. As Ida moves inland, flooding impacts are possible across
portions of the Lower Mississippi and Tennessee Valleys.

Stay safe Truth. Please don't push the "fates entire". Kinda like seeing what your bushy face manages to come up with!

I haven't been posting much lately but was definitely thinking of you when they projected New Orleans. All I could think of was you and "your" fort.

Anything stronger than Cat 1 and you should evacuate any area that has any history of flooding, cat 2/3 leave if buildings are not built to survive winds of 140, cat 4 or 5 is the hand of hand go north west away from forecast path.

Category 1 hurricane - 74 to 95 mph.
Category 2 hurricane - 96 to 110 mph.
Category 3 hurricane (major hurricane) - 111 to 129 mph.
Category 4 hurricane (major) - 130-156 mph
Category 5 hurricane - 157 mph and higher (Hand of God.)

I hope you left. Katrina in 2005 hit EAST of New Orleans, and the meaning of that was the most powerful part of the storm was EAST of that, into Mississippi and Alabama. Yes, levees broke in New Orleans.

THIS monster is just WEST of New Orleans, which means New Orleans is in the bulls eye for the most powerful part of the storm. That said 110 MPH winds in the city and those were sustained winds. Not surviveable. I mean that speed could take your neighbor's jonboat and toss it right through your house!
