It looks like it came from a Northern Califonia Beach
Not sure if it was a Hoax or if it was real

Portola Expedition?
HOAX or REAL DEAL?
It looks to be it was found in San Gregorio State Beach's fresh water outet?

Exact Site?

Portola Expedition

I Actually think this could possibly be real. Looks like a good spot to set anchor, Freshwater stream, potable water, probably alot of games, looks like a Driftwwod catchall area. So no labor intensive fire management. If I was looking for a spot to drop anchor, I don't think I would find a much better spot.

Apparently Portolla lost more than a few men on the expedition. Possible out of the pocket of some nearby burried Portola crew?
San Gregorio state Beach

Location of Find?

Maybe too nice. :icon_scratch: Does look like a place Portola might of dropped anchor though. Set up camp right in back of those dunes next to fresh water? I think it was a real find, by the detectorists reaction. During ectolysis notice the deteriorated piece of fabric sandwiched in between the coins? They probablycame out of a pocket. Which means most likely a body nearby.

It sure seems like he’s done that electrolysis process a lot. How many times has an average hunter needed to do that. I’m skeptical.
