I can actually paint.

I am a certified Bob Ross Landscape Instructor, and have done some traditional wildlife painting as well...............I framed all my paintings myself, making some, and finding others on sale.....Frames are expensive when they do it ...............

Our home has a lot of my paintings on the walls. I have also sold some in the past...........


Mountain Glacier... It is on a 16" x 20" canvas.... Approx 2 hour's work.

Mountain with waterfall. It is on a 16" x 20" canvas.....Approx 2 hour's painting time

Full Moon Wolf... The Wolf was done in traditional oils with quick dry added, and the background was done in typical Bob Ross Style . It is on an 16" X 20" canvas and framed myself. Approx 3.5 hour's worth of painting time involved.

Here are a couple more of the wildlife I did, all done in traditional oils.............


Lions were done in traditional oils. It is on an 18" X24" canvas and framed myself. Approx 65 hour's worth of painting.

Bear was done in traditional oils. It is on a 22" X28" canvas and framed myself. Approx 60 hour’s worth of painting.

Bobcat was done in traditional oils. It is on an 18" X24" canvas and framed myself. Approx 50 hour’s worth of painting.

Yes Bob passed away on July 4th of 1995 of brain cancer (lymphoma) at the age of 52.

The traditional wildlife paintings sold for $1.00-$1.15 per square inch, the landscapes sold between $30 and $125 depending on the size. I did a lot of 24" x 36" and larger paintings and they were the ones that sold in the upper price range.

The Full Moon Wolf I sold for $75 on a 16 x 20 inch canvas.

I sold a painting of a bullfight with the bull and matador and the crowds behind them done in oils for $650, it was on a 24" x 36" canvas. I charged $.75 a square inch for that one....

When I gave lessons in groups it was $30 per person, they furnished the canvas, I furnished easels and all paints and brushes. If they furnished the paint it was $20. I gave lessons in groups of 6-12...Private lessons was $60 per lesson, class lasted usually 2-2.5 hours......

I still have about 20 easels in my garage and lots of brushes..................

Good paintings. You left out the happy little clouds. I liked Bob Ross and taped his programs to watch again, and we used to sit around and get drunk and watch his show. Bob Ross turned out assembly line art. For money. They all looked the same and had no soul, but by gosh, they were good. You took his formula and applied it to yourself and gave it your interpretation, which shows and is good. If you want a good tip towards selling art, just whip the paintings out, the frame's the thing. Most of your buying public is attracted to the frame, to hell with the content and what you intended to convey. I've been in many art shows where that's all they talked about, the frame; the painting was incidental.

I always liked Bob Ross as well. Paintings I wasn't crazy about, but the show was well put together. I LOVED that little saying at the end, like peace be upon you brother, something like that, very touching.

I have taken some lessons, I love oil painting, though I haven't done it in a couple of years. I would love to learn to do animals. But I can't find anyone to teach me. At least not yet. Your pictures are just beautiful. And you deserve every penny you make on them.
