Back to Henry S's home site #2

Worked the areas I worked last week , trying to get into the thick grass . Next week I'm getting a lawnmower in there if It kills me !!!
Lotta finds at this old colonial home site waiting to be found.

Still I did pretty good  I scored a couple broken buckle pieces , lots of cut brass pieces and a musketball.

Over where the grass gets real thick I did what I could working around a godzilla size man eating briar patch the DFX sounded of on large hardcore iron ! I knew it was something big hiding in the colonial doyt. Whacked away with my shark shovel to defeat the flesh tearing killer briars and pinpointed the big iron relic and dug and dug and dug. Sat down to dig realizing it was going to take awhile to get to the item.

Finally in the 12+ inches zone I felt the shovel hit iron , cleared out more dirt and I saw the the top of it. Used the shark shovel working it under the iron piece and levered it out and YAYYYY , Trade axe head

Its 98.9% whole , the blade is broken in the top corner :sad5: but still looks GOOD to me ! Dont know why but I do enjoy finding these old tree chopper downers !

Thanks & Good Hunting Everyone !

D. Dude,

Wooooooooooohooooooooo, you just found one "Holy Grail" in the world of relic hunting! :headbang: Ever since I became a Colonial hunter, my goal is to excavate one of those beauties! Being such a professional, you found two already in your career if I am correct! :occasion14: :headbang: :hello2:

That baby would probably sell for a few hundred! :headbang: BANNER!!!!

D. Feller, you rock in the Colonial hunting! :occasion14: You definitely know how to keep your passion high! :icon_sunny:

I just received your PM and will respond later. You rock, D., you ROCK! :headbang: :occasion14:

Now, go hack at those briars and get to the other Colonial goodies! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Way cool. Congrats!

Hey D, just like our others. I still have to clean mine and am hoping for a mark... hoping for this long surely I will be rewarded. :D

Ok, I dug an axe I was happy with in the Spring but am now putting a quality iron find on the Fall want list. ...and an electrolysis set up for Winter!

D. Dude, the one and only excavator of the Henry S. dwelling location in the great state of NY, WAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! :headbang: :icon_salut: :headbang: :icon_salut: :headbang: :icon_salut:

I'm not worthy. :notworthy: I'm not worthy. :notworthy: I'm not worthy. :notworthy:

D., in our COLONIAL-ONLY hunting world, trade axes, cannonballs, and other early relics pertaining to the Colonial period are what we seek to find every trip out. :icon_thumright: :smileinbox: :occasion14: :wav: I dream about finding trade axes and other related trade items, but you, my good buddy from NY, have done it several times. :notworthy:

Actually, last Sunday, during KKC's drive home from our site, I said, "I always dig those iron-related signals, because trade axes would read in that range. Rust is a must when hitting those GREAT Colonial sites from yesteryear! :icon_salut:"

Your never-stop-til-I-find-the-Colonial-stuff is simply amazing, D. Feller Dude! :notworthy: I hope I can accumulate half of what you dig in that GREAT Colonial state of Nuevo York!!!

Here's to finding Henry S.'s box full of trade axes and 1793 Chain cents in mint state!!!!! :occasion14: :occasion14: :occasion14:

Kyle

P.S. KKC will be hunting a recently-harvested corn field on Saturday and Sunday. I got my 1791 one real and King George II coppa in July in this field. :headbang:

Greetngs Colonial Kirk of Early PA's Lost History ...

I was not expecting that trade axe , was the last though on my mind actually. There are quite a few large pieces of a broken iron cooking pot strewn about in the area.
I have read that a stash of trade axes was plowed up in the general area back in the 50's so good chances there are more out there.

We do some landscaping there next week and clear out the thick detecting - stopping overgrown grass we'll be nailing more colonail goodies :headbang:

Waiting for the day you post your freshly dug trade axe !

Good Hunting :occasion14:
