That's pretty cool max. Good luck with it and may it bring in a lot of nuts! Since you're working on this type of stuff, maybe you could work in one of these for the display...

Were did you get the plug in adaptors for head phones and coil? Can you take this rig in the water to any kind of depth?

Thanks, Randy

Gravedigger max,

Looks great. I hope you get great results. My only concern is by all the mods, adding wiring, changing the location of the control box, you could change the operation of the machine. Electronics are sometimes fickle. I wonder if a repair depot would still work or check it. It would be a shame to lose a $1000 machine. My point is don't, t modify your detector unless you understand detector electronics and can afford to risk a unit. Even electronics engineers can kill proto type units while designing. Once again good luck with your new detector.

It's a HUD (heads up display). You get a 13" virtual screen for one eye. I always thought it would be great to see if someone could adapt it to a detector so you could always have the screen in front of you.

ed, u did not read all

it is not knew, i am just remodeling the box for 2006.................making it smaller and moving the batteries outside.

it has worked great in 2005.

Gravedigger,

I still want to caution everyone about modifying detectors. It would be a shame to accidentally make any working detector a junk pile. I did miss that you were modifying it for the second. It appears that you have the skills and knowledge to do this. I hope you agree that what you did is not for everyone. It looks like you did a lot of research and found quality components to do the job. I like what you did and hope you success with it.

This looks GREAT.
This guy knows what he is doing.
His machine will last 40 years more then any other.
He is giving it more protection and strength.

Don't have to post "WARNING SIGNS EVERYWHERE"
Anyone who opens a Plasma tv up, to mess with the components.
Either knows what he is doing, or deserves what is coming to him.
We all obviously have alot of expensive electronics around, so this shouldn't be stressed.
Grave knows what he is doing, heck, I'll pay him to modify mine.

Looking foward for the finished 06.
Peace
