Greetings Fellow Vets! Man, I can't believe it's been almost 50 years since I enlisted in the Air Force, served from 1976 - 1980, 3 years at Eielson in Alaska, the last year in the Mojave Desert at Edwards. Yeah, that was rather rude of Uncle Sam to send me from Alaska to the Desert, I went from -50 to +112 really quick, not fun.

We didn't take a lot of pics back then, because we had to buy film for our camera, which cost $, we then had to spend even more $ getting the pics developed, so we were a lot more judicious in the pics we snapped, needed to make em' count. Today, I'll pull out my cell phone and snap dozens of pics without thinking, as "digital film" is free.

A buddy of mine sent me the pic below of me as a 1 striper at the bomb dump at Eielson standing in front of the radiator of our transport bus. I was either 18 or 19 at the time and a lot skinnier than I am today as I'll be 68 in July. But hey, it's not my fault, my wife is a great cook and I'm the victim here!

Compare that with the pic of me hunting on the beach several years ago, and a pic of me running into a much younger AMMO troop at a restaurant. My body might be 50 years older, but I still feel like I'm a young man inside, that is, until I try to get up off the floor, lol.

Thanks Terry and Thank You for your service as well brother.

My uncle is a retired full-bird in the 82nd Airborne, stepdad is retired Coast Guard, biological dad was a Marine, stepdad's brother-in-law, now deceased, was Navy, he was either a Commander or Captain, can't remember which, so I think our family has all branches covered, lol.
