oh man she is beautiful! I would crap myself if I pulled something like that out of the ground. that sure is a nice one to add to the collection. is it possible that it is a dug coin? I can't tell from the pic, but is that dirt around the date or shadowing? anyway when I dig one next year we will have to compare

I don't think it's a dug coin, I checked out hundreds of these and at least half have been cleaned sometime in the past. Many of these halves have a "grey" original patina that I don't really care for. I shy away from old cleaned silver coins, the shadowing on this one is slight tarnish.postalgriff said:oh man she is beautiful!
