I did it! Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks!

I found this today in the mailbox. I was surprised because I'm still taking one required class, Business Statistics and expected to finish/graduate in May 2015. I went back to school in Jan. 2013 (at 51 years old) after the Paper Mill I worked at closed down. Now it's time to start sending out resumes!!

Thanks for viewing, Bill

The Math was over-whelming, every semester I had Math of some kind, even now, finishing up with Business Stats. After being out of school 34 years, 90% of all the classes were new material. For the better part of two years all I did was go to school and do homework, the math was just constantly burdensome............. but I made it!!
Thanks, Vino

Awesome! That will be the best "find" of your life

Way to go! You should be proud for that accomplishment - it's never to let to better yourself. That is one find that will keep paying dividends.

Great job, I went back at 31, takes guts!

Don't really know you, but happy for you having the courage and drive to this. CONGRATS![emoji2]

Commendable, Impressive (very), and inspiring.

Not "todays finds", but I for one kind of hope the mods don't move this.

I also happen to be 51 YofA, and have to say I am very impressed. Good luck with those resumes.

Thanks Rick. Yea I know it's not what people expect to see when they come to today's finds but I thought this one time, I might push the limit. Not exactly like year to date totals, what is it, or hammered, silver, gold to date totals I've seen posted here. I am proud, it wasn't an easy thing for me to accomplish and I just wanted to share it with the friends I have made here on T-net! Thanks again.

Congrats on starting a new chapter in your life! Hats off to you my friend

Although I don't know you from "Adam" I am proud of you too.
Don't need to tell me it wasn't easy...I know it wasn't. Learning in general is more difficult at our age....and I know that too trying to keep up with my own website, and the computer problems that come with that.

I got to say THANKS FOR SHARING this, as it just might inspire someone else who was on the "back burner" about such an endevour. BIG congrats my man, and again I wish you the best of luck on the new job hunt. Sadly do keep in mind...the narrow minded set of the majority of employers...thinking (mostly wrong) that young is better.

Surely with your great resolve, and outlook, that a "smart" employer will "snap-you-up", and you job search won't last very long at all.

Again BIG congrats !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Banner !! (not voting, but just to let you know exactly how I think about this post)

Congrats. With that kind of determination you will succeed greatly.

MI,

A big pat on the back on your achievement....I lucked out and got bridged at the young age of 52 so didn't have to go through the whole retraining exercise.

Glad you managed to get through it....good luck moving forward.

Regards + HH
