Today I went over the Cottonwood pass and took my sweet time. On the east side it was cloudy and I stopped to sit by a stream and listen to the sounds. It was so peaceful with the sounds of the running water and the wind in the pines. A soft rain began to come down and added it's unique sound to the harmony of it all. On the west side the clouds broke and made it all a nice trip as we're moving in to Fall here in the Colorado high country. The traffic had tinned out a lot from the last trip I took over this pass and all the campgrounds had very few spots occupied. You should have come down this way today RG instead of going up Independence. I did see a mountain lion along the road in the dark tonight. I'll bet it was out hunting for some little Bambi's as they were everywhere tonight and I really had to keep my eyes peeled to the road because of all the deer by a place called Cimarron, Colorado.
