hello everyone!

i just got back from a 7 day vacation to texas and minnesota to see family and friends. i went with my girlfriend and came back with my wife...I GOT MARRIED! actually, by definition, we eloped. it was a spur of the moment proposal on friday quickly followed by a whirlwind wedding on the mississippi river in minneapolis on sunday, complete with two photographers, a videographer, an opera singer and a mustached minister/hipster. anyway...

i got back yesterday and got out today with Captain SE. we each found silver. i got two rosies and 5 wheats. the find of the day wasn't a coin though. it was the 1/2 oz. 24K gold ring i found at about two inches! man, i couldn't believe it! i thought it was gonna be fake but when i picked up the dirt-encrusted thing i felt the weight immediately. wiped it off and saw the 24k stamp. i guess i let out some sort of sound that made dan think i found a seated. we stood and looked at it for about ten minutes. the thing is heavy!

what a great day! after exchanging rings in minneapolis i come home to find a nice, fat wedding present in the dirt at my local park! thanks, park.

here are some pics...

HH, Mike

Whoa! Now that's what I call a ring! Any idea what that design is on the top of the ring?

1/2 ounce of gold??? Not a bad find at all :) Nice wedding present! Congrats on your marriage and the ring

Congrats to you and your Bride! :icon_king: :icon_queen:

Nice find on the ring too! 8)

My Brother lives up the hill from Dana Point park and I tried surfing it once.
He goes all the time. He also MDs on the beach there.
Was the ring in sand or the lawn? I am afraid of lawns so far.
Will try the beach up here in Oregon this coming weekend. :)

Big congrats on both!

I'm also curious what the symbol, letter, character on the ring is. Any ideas yet?

Hi greydigger

Didn't find it in Dana point. Found it at an old park in orange county. Thanks for your reply !
