I think I have a new favorite coin!
The quarter was literally less than an inch deep in a sandy area that had slightly washed out. When my PP touched the ground it maxed out so I just took a thin scoop with my digger. I almost choked when I saw it was a seated quarter! My first one in two years of serious detecting. Here in N. FL seated coins are rare (this is my 4th in two years...the rest are dimes).
As you can see from the pic, the quick/careless scoop gouged the front pretty bad....
I thought for SURE it was a clad quarter being so shallow and also showing 11/45 every swing and double beeping due to depth (oddly enough it is an 11/45 in low trash, high trash, F-C, and G-C)
