I think I have a new favorite coin!

The quarter was literally less than an inch deep in a sandy area that had slightly washed out. When my PP touched the ground it maxed out so I just took a thin scoop with my digger. I almost choked when I saw it was a seated quarter! My first one in two years of serious detecting. Here in N. FL seated coins are rare (this is my 4th in two years...the rest are dimes).

As you can see from the pic, the quick/careless scoop gouged the front pretty bad....

I thought for SURE it was a clad quarter being so shallow and also showing 11/45 every swing and double beeping due to depth (oddly enough it is an 11/45 in low trash, high trash, F-C, and G-C)

Killer find man!!..That was found on the beach?

No....just sandy ground here in many places. It was on a slope and the recent rain had created a slight washout.

Thats awesome man!. Any time i tried to detect in Florida, it seemed like everythign so SOOOOOOO deep. I wasnt sure if things sink fast in sand or what
Happy Huntin!

Awesome! Congrats!

I have yet to find any silver and gold coins and I am in Season 2 of my coin hunting. However, I did find a ring and 2 dollar coins today - a first. I shall be persistent cause I know someday I will find that silver coin and hold it up high and shout!

Sweet seated, thanks for sharing.

Gotta love seated anything!
