I went back to an old site today and found these relics.
The one piece button is silver plated and measures 24 mm's.
It has a good solid shank also.
13 stars and stripes, rattlesnake border with 13 rattles.
This variant is unknown to me.
Thanks for looking..

Dug this one about 10 years ago in old Hamburg,Ga. Wish mine was as nice as yours but that's OK with me ;D. Without your post I would have never known about this button. It's just been sitting in the old button finds!

Thanks,

Thanks B.H. for the reply! Rev. war! Military button you think?? That makes seance since it was found with a bunch of pewter buttons from that period.

That button is sweet, man i wish this damn snow would b gone here. Im tweaking so bad to get out anyways great find. HH MM

13 stars and 13 bars, a significantly patriotic button, bear in mind the
importance of the time, and the mentality of the commonfolk, a truly
significant 'button.'
-bill wade- hang on to it for quite a while...
any provenance will increase value...
now is the time for research, trust me.

kool digs! I wonder how many people dig nice buttons and dont think they are worth saving? I am sure I have thrown away some things I shouldnt have.... nothing of this magnitude obviously but still

I was thinking the same ........also all the stuff i sold for cheap $ because I did not know what it was.

Congrats on the button !!!

I have seen that button in one of my books now I cannot find it again. It stood out the day I seen it don't remember its value. But treasures like that have no values to hunters like us... Awsome dig. Oh yeh what about the coins they also look interesting what are they :icon_thumright:
