This time last year I started metal detecting, I went with my brother in law (ex) and used his (Bounty Hunter) spare detector and found a 1964 Roosevelt Dime my first time ever metal detecting. This morning I went out on a early hunt at a permission at a 1720 meeting house, just to find out there are absolutly no targets left. I was told it was hit allot over the years. So I ran to a nearby shore resort and was doing curb easements and road tearouts, when I found this poor bent up, beat up Rosie, ending my year with a 1964 Roosevelt Dime. Ha, always weird how things work out metal detecting. Enjoy the pix.

Nice find! I straighten out all my bent coins in a vise. It will probably come out pretty good if you're careful.

Funny how these things work. You've had a great first year and you and Vino have been on a tear. I will be at a year in September and never imagined how much a hobby would change my life. It's really given me something healthy to be obsessed with. It used to be whiskey and women and the occasional fight. This is much easier on my body :-)

I'll give it a whirl after I take a shower, thanks

Ha, one day at a time, It'll be 24 years for me this coming Dec. Abe, I feel it is a much better obsession for me also, it combines my love of the outdoors too. I really would like to come up and detect with you, I have been thinking of a long road trip to Nova Scotia, just need to work things out with my better half.

Pretty cool to bookend the year with the same coin.
