I finally found a bannerstone, sort of.

Well...part of one at least. I only had about 10 minutes to walk today.
I marked the spot and I guess I'll have to dig some day looking for the rest of it.

Doesn't look to be found in a field. It has the
appearance of freeze breakage. So, it seems
your odds are in your favor! The other half of
this winged banner was found by poking the
silted pockets in the hard pack of a drained
lake 5 minutes after I decided to give up! May
2008... Don't give up!

I need to dig then. It was found in a wash at the bottom of a pebbly hill in Eagle Springs NC. I also found a quartz rock that MIGHT be a point and a another pottery sherd. I can't give up on this hill. I just KNOW there is something there.

Nice find GL! Is that area sandy? I know E. Springs is considered in the "Sandhills". I found the best Guilford I've ever found while walking a peach orchard in Candor. Good luck on finding the other half.

The hill I am searching on is very pebbly and sandy with clay. No "posted" signs anywhere and in a public area.
