I finally got around to taking clearer pic's of the 18k ring I found in march

I found this on my 2nd hunt ever. The ground was still frozen so I was just surface hunting. This was at the bottom of my local toboggan hill just under the grass on the surface. I just stared for like 5 min. I couldn't believe that I found a gold ring!!!!

This pic is just to show the size.

Great find! Man I cant wait to find a gold ring lol

check out their website....

http://www.artcarved.com/

looks like they do high school and college rings along with family jewlery and bridal jewlery.

Here is some info on the company taken from their website

"Brand History
ArtCarved: A Distinctive Heritage Of Innovation Since 1850
Over a century ago the skilled ArtCarved artisans created the first seamless wedding rings- allowing for greater comfort of fit. Innovation continued with the introduction of "carved" wedding rings opening up a new world of design detail and styling.
But it wasn't just the rings that ArtCarved changed. As soldiers went off to WWII ArtCarved popularized the dual ring ceremony so that both spouses could have a symbol of their love and commitment. This 'new' tradition has become the standard for how people now symbolize the meaning of 'I do'. "

Nice ring. Let's go back there and find some more. lol

That ring kind of looks like the last one I found. I haven't weighed it or anything but it's pretty fat and 22K. Yours is in better (smoother) shape, though...

Beautiful ring, dream find for any of us. At todays spot on gold it is worth $207.71 in just gold value! (Spot $870.10)(31.1034768 grams in a troy ounce)(18k is 75% pure gold).

Simple formula for all to figure this out . . .

(Spot/31.1034768) * (Grams/Carat%) = Melt Value

24k = 100%
18k = 75%
14k = 58.3%
10k = 41.6%

For todays spot price on gold, click the "Metals" link above on this page.

Most of you already know this but for those who don't, all you need is a good scale that can weigh grams and you can tell the wife what your gold or silver jewelry is worth so that she will think you "Could" sell it to pay the detector off, although, she doesn't realize that we could never part with our found treasures.

HH, Mark
