I FINALLY GOT ONE!!!

those of you that i have been talking to over the past couple weeks know i have been wanting to get a metal detector..... well i finally got one Thursday night after work.... a Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505.... still learning how to use it properly..... well had to check out an old home site i have permission to hunt with the old porch and rock foundation still standing hunted for about 30 minutes kept getting all kinds of trash so i decided to go to the house i just bought.... best i can find out it was built in the early 1940's ... decided to go down the edge of the sidewalk first.... about a swing and a half later i got a pretty good signal and dug down about 3" and found a 1944 wheat first coin find and it was a WHEAT well of course there is no turning back now, IM HOOKED, well i didnt have a lot of time before work to hunt so i got in about an hour at my new old house and dug 6 holes 3 of them i didnt find anything (must be deeper or bad signals) but in the other 3 holes i found the 44 wheat, a 1952 wheat and what looks to be an old cigarette case that flips open like a compact or something , gonna get it cleaned up and get pics posted. gonna check some more of the sidewalk and yard tomorrow.

Great start!! Housing sites can be a tough place to start. Many times their just bulldozed over and debri like plumbing and such are strewn all over the place. Congrats on your new detector. Enjoy HH

congrats on your first wheatie, that is how I got hooked too.....found about 30 wheats total in my yard, well the house is a rental but, needless to say....I was hooked too!!

congrats on the first wheat. im sure you will have buckets of them in no time!.......but you will never forget that first one! i know i havnt! that yard may have some silver surprises for you as well. in `44 dimes still had wings on em!
