I found an old wooden barrel today, but couldn't bring it home.

I peaked into an old barn neighboring the property where I am working today, and found a nice old wooden barrel. Trouble is, it was filled with concrete and supporting one of the posts in the barn.
This is the first time I have ever seen a wooden barrel used as a concrete form!

Thank you for sharing! :occasion14:

My father was a builder and I used to help him on his jobs. Out in the country on the old farms we saw barrels and nail kegs used as forms a number of times. My dad used to say “take what you have and make what you want”. He grew up during the depression and money and products were not readily available so you made do with what you had.

Thanks for sharing. Keep swingin.

I guess that's where the sauna tube concept came from. Nice picture, ty4sharing

Down here in Southwest Georgia they were used to to line outhouses. Sometimes you can locate an old privy with a metal detector.

Creskol,
The quote in your signature is one of the best I've seen. To whom is it credited?
