Hello everyone! I have been in the market for a new metal detector for a while now. The ACE 250 is a wonderful machine, but the big dogs go deeper, and in turn get more targets. I metal detect all the time so I needed a good, deep machine. I had been looking at the AT Pro, and the AT Gold. I decided today that I would go with the AT Gold, because of the high frequency and relic finding capability. I hate spending money, but I believed this would be a high yield investment in the longrun. I was using my backup machine, a compadre, until my ACE was returned from warranty repairs. I couldn't go another day with the Tesoro. It is a very shallow machine, and I do not have any "easy" sites. When I got off work, I broke open the wallet and bought the only AT Gold in stock. I am so relieved to have a good detector finally.
The first site I tried it out at was very grown up and it was hard to swing, but I can honestly say that the first non ferrous that I dug with it was a colonial tombac or pewter button! What a great way to start out a voyage with a new detector! I left shortly after that because the sun was setting and I wanted to play a little, so I went to a field that has given me some good colonial targets in the past. I had deemed both sites hunted out with the ace 250, but again managed to pull another two targets from the field. First was an 1840s pewter cast spoon handle, marked C PARKER & Co. Then I dug a Complete minus sprag shoe buckle or knee buckle! I am very happy with my new detector, and am excited to learn how to use it. I dug a BUNCH of nails, so I am going to have to do some studying with the iron discrimination on the unit. Thanks for looking at my post! Enjoy the pictures, video coming!

The hour and a half hunt's yield!
