I found this today! its old but how old??????

i found this today at my spot that never fails, but how old is it? i found Avon New York, NY on the back i know that is a company still around but failed in finding out anything more or how old it possible is. Anyone know? thanks and HH!!

I know Avon was first started in 1886, really hard to tell age. Try looking at the hinge work and compare to others. Ive nailed dates doing this. Great find.

I couldn't open it till I got home I was racing in my GTI so I could open it with care but when I finally got it open the make up was inside and had turned to mold, it smelled like death I thought I would pass out lol I was hoping for a coin inside

Believe me a lot of us have been there hoping for the coin finds in these, so far 8 compacts found. 0 coins!!! But theres always the next one =)
