Little fella was 10.1 grams, came up out of the water with a 14K golden smile and teeth shining like diamonds. Had one really pretty blue eye. Darn thing bit me less then a half-hour into my hunt today. :laughing7:

Anyone care to take a stab at the blue stone?

I would not worry about the blue stone since it's surrounded by money !!! Awesome find !!!

Hope something bites my scoop like that tomorrow.

Chomp Chomp!!

I told ya so. :D

I like the Shark but it's not without a couple of problem areas. First, the headphones allow for too much ambient noise, and second, in fairly stiff currents and turbulence the coil is constantly flipping up. But I do have plans to apply a couple of simple cures to these issues. Aside from these two issues, "So far so good."

Nice work, makes me wanna head that way... But gonna be in Ohir hunting the wifes family's old swimming quarry. Maybe next weekend.

Good luck. Not had a chance to get back out, also needed to do a couple mods on the Shark, but will be back out this week for sure.

Here's a pic of a quick and simple fix for the "coil flip" issue. By trapping the back of the coil in this way the coil can't flip up. I also went this route to prevent any increase in possible drag. It's a pretty simple process that's explained here: http://treasurelagoon.wordpress.com (Hope this isn't violating any rules? If so please correct and forgive me.) Just look for the "Coil Flip Cure" post. There are also options for mounting it.

Congrats BigScoop! Nice ring!

Looks like a good mod scoop. Great blog too by the way...

Oh, almost forgot....that little coil flip mod I did is working out great. I've swung the thing in some pretty stiff and turbulent water and the coil stays put. I didn't even drill any holes, just used several tight wraps of electrical tape to hold it in place until I was sure it was going to work and even the tape seems to be holding it in place ok.

Congrats on the nice ring....I tried your mod on my sand shark and it worked great...(I used Zip ties to hold it on) thanks a bunch and HH

WOW!, Bigscoop, that is a hefty little fella!

It's a beautiful find...we all need a smile now and then ..mostly now while detecting at the beach this morning:coffee2:

Congrats on fine detecting, and watch out for those sea creatures who are also detecting..for you!
