That's exactly how the canal and wetlands look....all green with algae and water weeds.

I'll be danged if pic one doesn't look like the swampy area going into the Meadows,I'll take a shot this morning.

This is just a little pond off the side of the creek. The water from the creek flow's in and out very slowly allowing the plants, frogs and minnows to thrive in it. I was trying to get a picture of the dragonflies there, but they wouldn't sit still long enough. The frogs all head under water when you arrive, but one by one slowly surface when you sit still by here. It's only maybe 30 feet across I'd say and an interesting place to sit and watch what all goes on.

I'm not sure what you'd label this type of pond environment? The pond where the American Avosets raised their young is completely dried up now and all of them plus the Ducks, Herons, Egrets. Killdare and Geese have all moved on. It's a seasonal wetland. It even has tiny little seasonal frogs that no longer sing. Won't be till next spring before all the activities once again begin there.

This morning I stopped at the "spot" two puddles now to take a shot when this guy walked out from the far right.
