Often, when I watch Antique Roadshow, I see things and they say the bought it for $500 50 years ago. I say, I wouldn't pay $20 for it... My favorite is the 50 year old $500 item is worth $2000, and they say it was a good investment... If they had bought $500 in S&P 500, they would have $25,000...

Antiques are rarely a good investment.
