Yesterday I was at a old park and was having no real luck, just clad coins. Then I decided to hit an Old Elementary School in Bethlehem,Pa. And after 15-20 mins my Explorer SE Pro rang up, started digging and out popped a 1940s Mercury Dime...covered the hole and moved approx 5 feet down and got another crisp ring that moved around on the digital 11-27 was my final reading and i assumed it was a deep silver again and was I GLAD and SHOCKED to see that AWESOME ring, she was about 8'' deep. I am a very very very lucky to have come across this old great find...ITS A GUT WRENCHER when you see that gold baby!! GOOD LUCK TO ALL THANKS FOR LETTING ME SHARE SUCH A UNIQUE FIND! 22 064.webp22 067.webp22 069.webp22 068.webp

Any initials inside that beautiful ring??

Now to try & find it's owner.

Very nice class ring that's 60 years old! Owner has to be about 80 years of age by now........

Looks like intiials "SMO" ?
should be able to locate the old man........

An interesting site in Ithaca NY is actually Cornell University. There is a large bridge that spans a gorge and it's a L O N G way down! I can almost bet you will find coins, rings and others down there. Matter of fact, bases of most bridges are great targets! Nice ring find- hope you can still find the owner in time before they pass.

i wasnt even near Ithaca though.... I was in Pennsylvania.

Thanks for the info man! I will start hunting all those old schools now around the area. I wasn't finding much in the parks either!
Me and my buddies will prolly hit `em all this weekend---we got some good gear!
Nice ring! I am sure you can't wait to give it back!

I know where that bridge is in Ithaca, theres been quite a few students that ended thier lives jumping off that bridge over the years. you find a ring in there and try to return it? ....that phone call would kinda suck....on a lighter note: great find in PA, you may have a real gem there, get it dated. Cornell was founded in the mid to late 1800s.
