I was checking out treasurenet at lunch today and couldn't stand it any more! So...

I left work early and headed out with a very short hunting window... It was worth it!

First picture... My standard fare of .45-70 shells and bullets; a cool hinge (I rarely keep these, but this one has charactor); a couple of nails, shotgun shell base; glass button; a tarp/tent grommet; some other bits... I couldn't find and makers marks on that silver piece... oh well. ;)

Second picture... OH MY GAWD! I never find stuff THIS cool!!! ;D ;D It's a Infantry Bugle hat pin for the soldier's forage (kepi) hats! It's torn in the middle, but it's in one piece and all there! And best of all I can guarantee it's freaking real!

As always, thanks for looking...

Very cool horn' wonder if i'd a canned it not noing what it was. Way to Grow

I wonder that too... I've learned to bring it home, clean it, and look very close now-a-days.

Heres a comarison...

Excellent find indeed.

I'm going to be more careful about tossing things out. I wouldn't have known what that was at all. The comparison clearly shows what it is.

You got a great spot there! ;)

What a lovely horn! I Bet you are gratefull you seized your window of opportunity!

Looks like it met up with a modern gadget called a lawn mower. Almost made metal slaw out of it, but great find anyway. Monty

I would not bend it as it will probably break! I know from experience and have also tried to heat up the item, it can be disasterous. HH, Mike

Hey Jim I have a perfect solution for you. Just so you don't have to "blow your own horn" send me all your future finds and I will keep them and write glowing reports on what a great "finder" you are. That way you can bask in the glory of all of the praise without having to toot your own horn.
Great finds!
Ron

Jim...that's awsome....go ahead and blow your own horn! I'd be proud of that find, too.

Thanks, again, for the great pictures!
