The ground is frozen solid my way but I am thinking about new places to try when it warms up a bit. There are so many small parks near me and I guess I am wondering if you guys have had better luck in parks where there is clearly a lot of fill or places that seem more undisturbed?
Look at he trees that are growing in the parks.
Slow growth or fast growers.
Look at the trunk where it meets the ground.
Now look at a power pole and what it looks like.
A tree without any fill will have its root ball raised up around the tree.
If it looks like a hydro pole then there's been a good amount of landscaping (fill) in the area of the tree.

Another one is the quality of the grounds (meaning the grass/turf) perfect then it has been replanted.
Patchy looking, weed areas, then it has been there for awhile.

I guess my question is which type do you prefer? Do you find a lot of stuff in the parks where there is fill?
