✅ SOLVED I have ideas, but no clue!

It is about ! 1/4 long, about 1 wide at widest point,and seems to be made of lead.The hole protrudes a little ways up into the top and there seems to be a little wiggle room up in top.Sits perfectly upright on its base and is driving me flippin crazy trying to figure it out.

End of a curtain rod, more likely the end of a handle on a fireplace poker set. Are you sure it's lead and not pot metal? If it's truly lead then I'm wrong.

I am pretty sure it is lead.nicked it on one spot,shines like lead, and seems to have the same weight

It sits pretty much perfect,but the hole throws me off.Almost like something was screwed into it or it was screwed onto somthing

.I rubbed around it with a tooth pick for a minute,I dont see any as far as i can tell.I would say no,because the hole seems kind of rugged,not perfectly round

When i first found it awhile back,I thought it was some kind tompion,mabey had a cork attached at one time.But i took it to a local civil war shop and they said no.I have no clue. A dag on lamp shade screw top thing is starting to sound good

Thanks man,any kind of game piece would be pretty neat, Some relics/finds just drives me crazy.some stuff is like thinking about space.Can think about it forever and never really know.

that looks a lot like the top of a seal, you know, those things they used to stamp into hot wax to seal an envelope or letter... perhaps the carved stone or rubber portion has simply fallen out and all you have is the top.
