i just found a really cool pendant

hey gang i went for a short hunt the only find may be my best find yet i was hunting a 1860's-1880's place. i got there turned on the detector and started to git to work. i got a mid tone and was a little iffy about the signal but when i dug it i was really happy i got
home and cleaned it up and googled the stone its white opal my first piece of some good jewelry. i think it was a pendant. Thanks for looking Happy Hunting

Very pretty piece. I see no place for a chain to attach. Perhaps it had a back where a chain would attach. The front could have fallen off and you found it.

It looks like it was maybe a pin of some sort. In the second photo you can see a place below the stone where something was originally soldered.
