I just made it to a doomed house a few nice old finds CW era 2 cent coin 1865

Last night driving i noticed some heavy equipment digging up property across from my job at a wooded area they where cutting big trees down and pulling the stumps out with a big pay loader with claws ,the house on the property is doomed for the bulldozer so i stopped and ask the boss did he know how old the place was he said the original house was 1920,s then added on plus a half acre of woods will be cut down for a new project ? i asked could i hit the place with my MD he said sure but not while all the equipment was running ,so i went last night 1 hour before work this morning was to late those guys get up early >:( anyway i did manage a few nice old coins 4 silver 1853 3 cent piece a merc a rosie and a jefferson 2 copper coins a 1865 2 cent piece woohoo CW era and a 1840 largie, i soaked them in peroxide for awhile the normal clad and few other things i love that School bus :hello2: i took pics this morning enjoy Dd60

I do also i don't find many out here where the entire site is just sand very little dark soil the sand is much kinder to finds Dd60

That is what i hope for this time i beat the dozier and all the iron that house will produce at least i got the stump holes ,this whole place out here is a layer in time ,rumor has it that place will be another 7-11 with gas pumps just what we need a 7-11 every 1/2 mile ::)

Good stuff...looks like one of the carpenters lost their tape measure when they were building it, nice find.
 

I would say that ANY patch of ground in your area, house site or no house site, is worth hunting. With the age of your area, there is just no telling what was once there. If you don't believe me, give it a try. :wink:

That is true i know whats out here at least 400 + years of history userally i don't post all my finds just the not seen to often finds the rest ill save for years end post iam lucky if i can get in 4 hours total time a week now MD,ing its busy season .Good hunting :thumbsup: Dd60

Awesome finds :icon_thumright: Hit that place every chance you get while the workers are not there...hopefully they're not working on weekends. Looking forward to seeing more finds from the area.

Congrats on the nice old saves Dd60 that 3 center is in good shape for an old silver as is the 2center, I'm still looking for a 2 center :icon_thumright:
Wow that school bus is long and has a lot of windows, I was on a short
