I Know You've Found One of These Too.

Hello All,

I have a hunch that many of us have found these items. Any idea of what they're for?

Thank you for your help,

I agree, I like DCMatt's idea. You beat me to the punch 'cos I was too busy digging on this site - awesome stuff. http://www.liveryone.net/carriage_directory.shtml

Mike, I may write to these folks and ask them. That would be a quick way to find out a few things.

Re: I Know You've Found One of These Too.

Here's a couple pics of one I dug at an old house site that dated from just before the civil war into the early 1900's. One thing I noticed is it looks like the ones that have been posted on here are all bent and at about the same place I don't know if anyone noticed but one of the pics I posted was the wrong thing . Sorry About the wagon part idea. I have no idea what these things are but I don't think something like that would be made of brass as I don't think brass would hold up. That's just my opinion though.

Well vayank, that kills my idea, as your's is moon shaped and doesn't have rivet holes. (I'll go back and delte my "art work")

Had to bump this one up. It's been three years and no decent ID on these items. I have dug several of them over the years.

Now, with new eyes and new members on the forum, any ideas? As anyone else ever dug one?

Best Wishes,

Buck
