I live in WNY any chance I could find gold in my hills ?

I've heard of a old goldmine inside of Allegany State Park. They say you can't prospect or pan inside of the park, because some utility co. owns the mineral rights.

Not the utility company that would own those rights Rich, it would be the Alleghany Seneca Tribe. They retained mineral rights all over WNY by treaty. I ran into this alot when buying properties around here I have to be very careful to make sure I get mineral rights on all properties I own. I currently Have around 12 properties about 750 acres worth. If you look around this area of the state theres Oil wells that are all Seneca owned as well because they retained min. rights. Maybe I own some of that black gold hehehehe
