Great Button.

A nectar-sectar? I'm new to the site today...what's that lingo mean?

Wow looks like ya went back in time and tore it off of him.sweet button.congrats.

"nectar" is from the show Diggers and basically means the good stuff. I assume that sectar means the area he is hunting is producing some good nectar. I personaaly don't think that I will be adopting that lingo myself but the show is pretty entertaining.

Nice find on the button though. Or should I say the roundness! (I know, it's not a coin but it is round, LoL.)

Now that's some nector rite there - LOl - very nice button for sure

Nice button !! Congrats !!

And yes ... the nicknames are ridiculous. And just so you all know, these "sell outs" of our hobby are ruining it for all of us. I have lost good detecting sites directly due to their show. Way to go guys .. run all the way to the bank and take our beloved hobby with you when you cash your check !

Those two guys on that show are terrible! I enjoy seeing what they are doing and has perked a greater interest for me into this hobby (have always been interested) enough to try it quite seriously. But those two on the show, their antics and lingo are enough to make you sick!

Fantastic button, but that show is the worst representation of a hobby that anyone would fabricate, those guy are actors and bad ones at best!

<shakes head> I have yet to see the show, but it's "NECTAR SECTOR". Sorry, it was getting to me. Yes, they do rhyme, but rhyming =/= same spelling.

Nice find though!

wow.... cant say that I have seen the show, but that just seems stupid! Im told that after these shows is why Im being asked for some money when I ask permission to MD... Is that true? I have asked a few people and they want to make me sell everything and give them a split of the profits... crazy!

Those two ding dongs and there lingo is annoying and wore out! Property owners do seem tougher as of late. A coincidence... I don't think so. It the honey boo boo of mding and can't fade to black quick enough.

I congratulate you on your find, first block I have ever seen with that much gilt left! I do agree with the comments about the terminology that the digger show is trying to represent as a hobby practice. I would suspect that the terminology being pushed was thought up by the show producers to try to liven up the show since I don't know of any experienced diggers that would stoop to using such gibberish in a serious manner. I have more thoughts about what the shows are doing to our hobby but don't want to hijack your thread.

Would love to see the back of that button if you get a chance to post a pic.

Nice juice there lol congrats!!!!

or jump around like you lost your mind.they act ridiculous.id be finding a less wacked out digging partner.juice baby.

Congrats on the find.

Diggers is annoying. I do watch but I leave the room when they get to the 'bet' portion of the show...my wife yells into the kitchen this week that one of them had to take a cow patty and deliver it to a mail box. My response was 'they do that every show...deliver crap to the audience'. If I was not addicted to this hobby and have a uncontrollable urge to watch people dig things up I would not watch it. Up until this weeks shows I felt they were getting better each week...minus the lingo...but this week they started going back to their more idiotic ways. Jumping into water or throwing themselves into trees and bushes. If I saw two people acting that way after I allowed them onto my property I would tell them to leave.

Haha wow alot of comments. I mainly say that as a joke I had between other detectorists but anyways...the back of the button is hard to get a pic of because of tarnishing but it says Waterbury button Conn. Is this a union button or CSA...because if it is CSA, it is...its a replica. I'm worried!

A Block I is a Confederate button.

Seeing a Block I with that much gilt is a rarity and that was why I was curious about the back. I believe your suspicion about it being a replica is sound. Possibly a re-enactor's button?

You are near areas where you have the chance to dig a real one, and I think Karma now owes you one! Keep digging.
