Alright guys and gals, Tomorrow I am scheduled to get 8 half dollar boxes. I have a slight problem though. I had a Dr.s appt today and we set up a time for my neck surgery and gave me stronger pain meds. My question is, Without driving myself, What would be the best way to ask a friend to help me go about obtaining and dumping these boxes. I am in considerable pain myself and have been ordered to do NOTHING that may strain my neck. That includes not picking up boxes of coin :laughing9:. Thoughts?? Also, I would greatly appreciate it if Y'all kept me in your thoughts. I am going through a rough spot in my life with this mass. Thanks!

Your health is the most important thing. Don't go risking even more serious harm to yourself over coins. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

This!

Just ask. If I was closer I'd be happy to give you a ride and lug your coins for you.

If you are asking a friend then all you should have to do is ask for a favor.
That's what friends are for. :icon_thumright:

Can't think of much to add, other than I would at least offer to either give my friend gas money or insist that he/she drives my vehicle while lugging me around. Most friends will probably not accept the money, but the sincere offer of such is a very nice gesture IMO.

Also, should you find yourself "out of action" for awhile, be sure to cancel any standing orders. I have no doubt that it really ticks a bank off when they order halves for someone and they never show up to claim them.

Hope everything goes well and you have a speedy recovery!

Good luck on the Surgery. I had neck surgery two years ago, did not listen to the Doctor and went to work after one week and tore the neck flap open. Really sucked! Listen to the Doctor, he knows.

Find a trusting friend and have at it. Good Luck!

Ask a friend. Or ask the bank to hold them they will. Hope all goes well :icon_sunny:

As others have said listen carefully to the doctor and follow their directions. I hope things turn out well for you.
Regards to getting the coins just ask your friend or maybe two friends if they can help you out. I have some close friends who know everything about coin roll hunting from me and they are well aware of my finds and what not but they have no significant interest in coins like I do. In the past they have gone with me to pick up coins and have helped me search from time to time. If you have as good of friends as I do it shouldn't be a problem for them to help you out under your circumstances.

Offer them a bit of silver if you find some? Ive educated my friends on silver so if I buy the gas and give them a 40% theyd jump all over it, theyd prolly do it for free but still...hope you get better

Anybody remember who it was that had the back injury that used to have his wife do the pick ups for him I think. I don't think he posts here anymore.

I dont remember that guy, but there is a guy here who frequents the Metal Detector forum, and he had surgery or was injured a month or two back... Well, he goes dirtfishing daily I believe, and anyways when he couldnt dig his own holes, his wife was out there diggin his holes for him. I mean, I have heard of many good women, but this one I think takes the cake. What a beautiful thing. His screen-name is goes4ever and he probably finds more silver with his trusty Etrac, then most people do CRH'ing for it...

Know him well and his story, I have an e-trac myself.
Anyway Impureststewart call the bank to hold them for you and explain the situation and as soon as your problem clears up you'll come and get them, they will probably understand. If you do get a friend or your girl friend or wife they will understand the situation also and be glad to help but I would go with them in your car and let them drive, that way they have someone to chat with.
The only down side I see is your opening up a new CRH career and competition. :laughing9: :laughing9: Good Luck With Your Neck.
